THE DETAILS

Applying the decals is super easy, they are pre-cut so all you have to do is peel and stick and voilà, a fresh new look! But of course a few little tips along the way will make installation easier and ensure your decals can be reused. Please read ‘Preparing your walls’ tab before applying any decals.

Do not remove the decal from backing paper until you are sure of the placement, see below tips for installing larger decals.

You must prepare your wall to ensure the decal can adhere correctly and is not damaged, see the tab on ‘Preparing your walls’.
Once you have prepared your wall, peel off the excess around the decals and discard. Carefully peel the decal from the backing paper and position it on the wall, starting from one side press down and smooth with your hand. If there are any wrinkles or bubbles simply lift the decal and reapply by smoothing with your hand. To reuse your decals ensure you keep the backing paper to transport and reuse them easily without damaging the adhesive.

Newly Painted Surfaces
You must wait at least 30 days before applying your decals to newly painted surfaces, this allows time for the paint to outgas. Textured surfaces or paint bubbles will cause the decal to fail. Do not use on these surfaces.

Tips for larger decals:
Larger decals can be abit tricker to install, you need to avoid the pieces sticking together. We recommend to use blutack on the backing first to work out where you want to position the decal. Once you know where you want to place it put your decal face down on a clean surface and start to peel off about 15-20 cm of the backing paper, pick this up and position it on the wall, using the wall as a support for the rest of the decal. From behind begin to peel the rest of the backing paper slowly and smoothing it down with one hand as you move along. To reposition the decal we recommend using 2 people to peel off the whole piece and manoeuvre into the correct position.

Preparing your walls is an important step to ensure your decal adheres to the wall properly. Skipping this step may result in your decal being damaged.

Clean your walls/surface with a clean, damp cloth (water only) to remove all dust and dirt. Removing as much dust as possible will ensure the decal can be reapplied. Do not use any chemical cleaners as this may damage the adhesive and cause it to fail. Remove any hooks or fixtures on the area you will be applying the decal. Dry the surface thoroughly, make sure it is completely dry before applying the decal, leave for 24 hours to be sure.

Our removable wall decal material is a polyester blend fabric that has a matte finish, with an adhesive on the back. The adhesive is clear, doesn't smell and won't harden over time, so it won't damage the wall or leave any residue when removed.

Our decals also have a blockout backing which means they will work on light or dark walls, even glass or mirrored surface.

Our decals are designed to be applied to flat plasterboard walls, glass or mirrored surfaces. They have a blockout backing which means they will work on light or dark walls.

They are not suitable for textured walls (concrete, brick or render) but we can custom print one for you. If you would like any of our decals for your textured walls please contact us for a special order at no additional cost.

Our decals are designed to last years when they are cared for correctly. Made from durable and reusable material they are eco friendly and can even be passed on to friends or family when you want a new look or kids grow out of them.

To get the most life out of your decals make sure you follow the instructions for preparing your walls, and keep the backing paper to transport and reuse them easily without damaging the adhesive. If you accidentally throw out your backing paper you can contact us and order more at an additional cost.
